I recently had a project requirement that needed first person footage from a helmet. I googgled around and found the Go Pro Hero 2 camera.

This amazing little camera comes with its own waterproof housing, a Smörgåsbord of mounting and accessories.

Here are some photos of it after i unboxed it

The GoPro with its waterproof housing.

The GoPro without its housing.

The GoPro Lens on the waterproof housing.

This is how i mounted the camera to my helmet

I used the camera since for all sorts of shoots.

It can do Timelapse Stills (<=0.5secs), video up to 1080p, 10 shots stills burst, timer stills, high framerate video (up to 120fps) for slow motion playback and a host of other features. Read the Product Comparisons .

Conclusion: Handy little camera that can give very wide angle ( 170 degrees), images and video are pincushioned. Grainy images in low-light scenarios, no ISO control. Fixed Aperture F2.4 (?), Fixed focal length 2mm. Fogging of interior of waterproof casing when the GoPro camera heats up inside, need to put in GoPro Anti-Fog Inserts (not cheap see http://gopro.com/camera-accessories/anti-fog-inserts/). Some mountings causes the camera to vibrate creating vibrating video shots. Other than that, its a good interesting adventure cam for Base-Jumping, Parachuting, Rappelling, Surfing, Biking.
